Packing and more packing

Here we are, 5 days until moving day. We are enjoying our time packing up and getting everything ready to go. It has been a bit chaotic, but we are all making the best of it!

Packing up Josiah!

Layla and Josiah packing their many stuffed animals

Ian being a huge help. We couldn't do it without him!

Daddy working super hard. He is wonderful.

Boxes and boxes of school stuff, all of which we have to take on our first trip.

It seems like we have been packing forever, but we still have so much to do. It sure is an adventure. On another note, the babies started eating carrots. They are getting so big!

Change is coming

Well it is official, we are moving to Washington state. We began packing today and it certainly is interesting. So much stuff... it is an adventure, that's for sure. We are very excited about the prospects that await us and especially about the possibility of snow in the winter! At least for Layla, Josiah and myself, this is one of the most awesome things. Of course it is very sad for us to leave the coast, we love living at the beach and we love being near my mom and family.

Aunt Hanna and Uncle Davey, we will miss you so much!

So tomorrow we will pack and pack some more! Hopefully I will remember to take some pictures of our packing adventure and post them so you can see how crazy it all is.

Afternoon of activities

This afternoon we spent time doing learning activities with Layla and Josiah. It all started when Layla was enjoying rollerskating over ants...this led us to a lesson in the things ants do and why they do them. Daddy had the idea to make an ant farm, and the kids were very excited.

Digging for dirt and ants

Poking holes for air

The finished product

They had a great time, and especially loved giving the ants whoppers to eat! After this I gave them a baking lesson while we made a cake. (Don't worry, they washed their hands first!)

Delicious!!! We had a wonderful afternoon!

Park Night

Last night we had an evening out and went to the park. It is so nice lately, not too cold at night. Everyone had such a great time...

Even daddy got in on the fun

Layla and her dolphin she named Freddie

Josiah playing star wars on his dolphin Bob

All the pictures of Ian didn't come out...although he was okay with that! He had fun playing catch with James and skateboarding. I relaxed on the blanket with the babies and read. We got home after bedtime, read a chapter of Treasure Island, read a Bible story and went to bed. It was a lovely night.
