Surprise drive

On daddy's day off yesterday we went on a drive. We were collecting things to make fall crafts and just having a great time together. We drove around a bend and were surprised by...

Yes, snow!

Our children (besides the oldest, Ian) have never seen the snow. Living on the coast of CA they never had the opportunity to see snow. Now that we are in WA, they knew they might be able to, but none of us expected this. They were so excited.

The day was so amazing. We were the only people around so we had our own little "winter wonderland." The kids said it was the best day ever. God is so good, His creation so amazing, so lovely. I thank the Lord for these days and these memories.

Oh, and for cousin Kelly, here is Layla's REAL snow angel! You can tell by her face that real snow makes you cold!!

Dear Amy,

Are those twins? How beautiful--I have twins too---twin boys! Aren't they fun?!

You had left a comment on my blog asking me if we are part of Acts 29 stating that you and your husband are considering it. I have to tell you that we are considering church planting but are in the 'preparing' phase. I wanted you to know that we have personally met Mark Driscoll and Scott Thomas and they are really great men. We have researched enough Acts 29 to truly consider working with them and would consider it an honor---but will cross that bridge when the time comes. We have even attended Acts 29 Bootcamps and would love to attend again, if at all possible. I highly recommend them especially if your husband is leaning that way. Hope that helps...

Many blessings...

How fun!! When I was a child we lived in Texas(my dad was in the army) and when we would visit our family in Illinois for Christmas we thought the snow was "magical"! One year there wasn't any snow when we went to visit, and a few days into our visit my grandpa woke everyone up in the middle of the night because it was snowing. We got bundled up and played in the snow most of the night!

Blessings,
Amanda

YAY LAYLA! That is so awsome! I wish I were there with you guys! That definately beats the Do-It-Center, yeah??? Tell Layla that that was the most beautiful snow angel that I've ever seen in my life. Come to think of it, that may be the first real snow angel that I've ever seen in my life! Hahaha... Actually, it looks like there were 7 angels in the snow that day! I miss you guys so much, and love you even more. Please give out hugs and kisses for me! Xoxoxoxo...

The snow is just lovely. We just returned from a year in Washington state. We moved back to Texas in April. The snow was so wonderful!! This post was a pleasant reminder of our days in Washington.

Your family is lovely.

Hello Amy,
Your blog appeared on my screen last week and I snooped. My lawn and surrounding hills are white this morning. (upstate N.Y.)
You caught my interest when I saw that you use the Comstock book.
I have a treasured copy that I grew up with that was given to my mother in 1919 by her first school superintendent.

Amy,your family is beautiful and precious! It is so good to hear that you are doing well, having some fun (even in the snow!!! I don't love the COLD snow...:) and that you get lots of good ole' family time. The days when your kids are little are so fleeting...they go by way too fast! Have to enjoy them while you can. Just wanted to give you a "Calli" update......Her last test results showed that two of the three tumors are GONE.....Praise the Lord, for He alone is worthy to be praised!!! Thank you for your continued prayers for her.....they mean so much to her and our entire family! Love you girl!!! Terry Kalman
