A brisk walk...

It has been so cold lately
Though we want to be outdoors those times have been few for as soon as we step out we hear the inevitable "I'm cold" from someone.
We did manage to make it out one day recently. We took a picnic and went to a waterfall. The cold was quite overwhelming, but the beauty of our surroundings, to witness God's marvelous artwork, caused us to forget our frozen skin. The twins ran all over, Layla and Josiah collected sticks and stared in awe at the waterfall, and Ian worked on making a fire to warm us by.

" The Lord is my sheperd, I shall not be in want

He makes me lie down in green pastures

He leads me beside quiet waters,

He restores my soul

He guides me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake."

Loving our time out, but so glad to be back in. To snuggle by the fire, to drink coffee and cocoa, to warm our chilled bones.

Another day I am blessed, yet again, as I am everyday. It is truly amazing how children love to learn, to help, to watch, to drink everything in. As I prepare to make muffins for daddy for his early morning breakfast as he heads to work, two little darlings ask to help. They are so fascinated with the processes of things, their curious minds working non-stop. These things are so important to them, and so they remember every detail. As Josiah informed daddy, they bake at 400 degrees.

He made sure to tell the "special" ingredient...orange juice.

The joys and wonders of childhood.

Sure, I'll take a muffin, Amy! :-)
What a nice post...it must be wonderful to have a waterfall nearby! It is very cold her too, with snow/ice, so I understand the feeling of wanting to get outside, but not being able too!

God bless your day!

Oh, how I wish I could be taking my little ones out! It has been under 20 degrees nearly every day lately. Even making the two block walk to the library was difficult in the 6" of snow we got this week.

Those muffins look terrific. My little ones have taken a strong interest in my cooking and baking as of late. It is so much fun to include them in my activities and see how much they learn from it all.
